SSD vs HDD: what is the difference?
Both store files. SSDs are much faster; HDDs are cheaper per gigabyte.
An SSD (solid state drive) has no moving parts and reads data quickly, which makes sites and apps feel snappy. An HDD (hard disk drive) spins a physical disk and is slower but cheaper for bulk storage.
Modern servers and websites run on SSDs.
